Which skin treatment clinics near Gangnam Station in Seoul have a good reputation?
Gangnam Station is packed with clinics. Rather than scrolling through lists, set your own checklist first. You can verify all five items below yourself, or simply ask on the spot, without taking anyone's word for it.
| What to check | How to check it | Hyunginjae's answer |
|---|---|---|
| Clinic and doctor credentials | Ask for the business registration number and look it up yourself | Business registration number 818-28-01947 (Health services · Korean Medicine Clinic) |
| Length of the first visit | Ask, “How much time is set aside for the first visit, and what does it include?” | About 2 hours, including a constitution consultation, body composition analysis, and pulse, abdominal and tongue diagnosis |
| Who handles foreign-language communication | Ask whether it is in-house staff or an outside interpreter or agency | Chinese-, Japanese- and English-speaking staff work at the clinic full time. They are in-house employees, not outsourced |
| Payment | Ask whether you can pay the clinic directly | Cash or card |
| Booking | Ask whether you need an appointment | Consultations by appointment |
Under the medical advertising rules of Korea's Medical Service Act, this article describes only items you can verify about our own clinic. It does not directly compare us with any other medical institution or its services.
Getting here: walkable from two subway stations
Hyunginjae Korean Medicine Clinic is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of 20 Yeoksam-ro 1-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the block between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station.
- 3-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 4 (about 196 m) — transfer station for Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line
- Yeoksam Station — Line 2; you can also walk from here
In other words, you can walk straight in from two of Seoul's main lines, with no need to transfer to a branch line. That helps if your trip to Korea is tightly scheduled.
If you are driving, the building has a mechanical parking system. If you drive an SUV or a large sedan, please contact us before you come, because mechanical parking spaces have vehicle size limits.
Which skin treatment clinics are near Yeoksam Station (Yeoksam-dong) in Seoul?
If you are searching from the Yeoksam-dong side, know one thing first: in Korea, skin care falls under different medical systems. Hyunginjae is a Korean medicine clinic. Our focus is pharmacopuncture and manual techniques, along with herbal medicine that works at the level of your constitution. Korean medicine care runs in parallel with dermatology rather than replacing it.
So when you come from the Yeoksam-dong side, the real question is which level your concern belongs to:
| Your main concern | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Recurring acne or sensitive skin reactions | Acne treatment |
| Pitted acne scars and other scars | Skin Regeneration Acupuncture |
| Pores, skin texture and regeneration | PN Rebuilder |
| Pigmentation, skin tone and radiance | Caviar Rebuilder |
| Firmness, sagging and facial contours | Skin lifting |
| An uneven face (left vs. right) | Facial Asymmetry |
At the Hyunginjae Skin clinic, we first decide the order in which to improve your skin, then match it with the right plan. If you are not sure where to begin, this step is exactly what solves that.
Planning your time: registration cutoffs and Saturdays
Scheduling is easy to overlook, but it matters most when you only have a few days in Seoul. Here are the hours for Hyunginjae Korean Medicine Clinic.
| Item | Time |
|---|---|
| Clinic hours | Weekdays 10 a.m.–7 p.m. (lunch break 1:30–2:30 p.m.) / Saturdays and public holidays 10 a.m.–5 p.m. (no lunch break) / Closed Sundays |
| Registration cutoff | Weekdays: 1 p.m. for the morning, 6:30 p.m. for the afternoon / Saturdays and public holidays: 4:30 p.m. |
Two things you can take advantage of: there is no lunch break on Saturdays and public holidays, so we see patients through midday. And on weekdays, afternoon registration closes at 6:30 p.m., so you can still come in after work.
The first consultation takes about 2 hours, so make sure that block fits into your day. This is also why you need to book ahead.
Your visit, step by step: from WhatsApp inquiry to leaving the clinic
Step 1 · WhatsApp inquiry
Message Hyunginjae on WhatsApp to describe your current condition and what you would like to address. For some herbal medicine programs, you can fill out an online questionnaire first, and the chief director will consult with you remotely before prescribing (see the online questionnaire).
Step 2 · In-person consultation
Hyunginjae sees patients by appointment. About 2 hours are set aside for the first consultation, which includes a constitution consultation, body composition analysis, and pulse, abdominal and tongue diagnosis. Your plan and costs are decided only after this step.
Step 3 · Treatment
Treatment follows the plan set during your consultation. If a treatment needs several sessions, we will explain the intervals and number of sessions at this stage.
Step 4 · Aftercare and after you return home
Before you leave, we explain what to watch for after this session and when your next visit should be. Once you are back home, you can contact the clinic directly through WhatsApp, LINE or our website, with no agency in between. Results and recovery vary by individual.
How to read satisfaction numbers
When it comes to “reputation,” let us be clear about what the data is: the figures below are Hyunginjae's own survey results, each with its survey date. They are not ratings from a third-party platform.
| Category | Treatment satisfaction | Would recommend |
|---|---|---|
| Diet | 94.8% (Sept 2024) | 91.4% (Oct 2024) |
| Acne treatment | 92.2% (Sept 2024) | 92.7% (Oct 2024) |
| Skin lifting | 92.3% | 96.1% |
| Brightening (Melasma & Pigment) Contactor | 91.7% (Sept 2024) | 93.9% (Oct 2024) |
When you look at numbers like these, whether a survey date is listed is itself something to check. Without a date, you cannot tell when the survey was done or who was asked.
What having one doctor means
Hyunginjae has one registered Korean medicine doctor. This leads to two structural results:
- There is no “choose your doctor” step
- Your consultations, assessments and follow-up records build up along one continuous line. Hyunginjae records your condition at every visit and compares it with the previous assessment at each follow-up
When you book, you can ask the clinic on WhatsApp to confirm in writing who will see you that day. Once you arrive, compare it with the credentials listed on our Medical team page.
Who treats you
Dr. Hong Myeonghwi
The chief director of Hyunginjae graduated from Kyung Hee University College of Korean Medicine. Dr. Hong completed the expert and advanced courses of the Korean Medicine Obesity Society, completed the regular and advanced courses of the Spine and Nerve Chuna Society, and holds the RMSK (Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography) credential from the U.S. Dr. Hong has also done clinical training at three institutions: Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Hangzhou Tongde Medical Center and Taichung University of Chinese Medicine.
You can confirm who consults and treats you when you book
Hyunginjae has one registered Korean medicine doctor, so there is no “choose your doctor” step. About 2 hours are set aside for the first consultation, which includes a constitution consultation, body composition analysis, and pulse, abdominal and tongue diagnosis. When you book, you can ask the clinic on WhatsApp to confirm in writing who will see you that day. Once you arrive, compare it with the credentials listed on our Medical team page.
Credentials and registration numbers you can check
The clinic's credentials, with numbers you can check yourself (the business registration number can be looked up on the Korean National Tax Service business registration status service):
- Business registration number 818-28-01947 (registered under its Korean trade name / registered category: Health services · Korean Medicine Clinic)
- Our herbal medicines use GMP-certified ingredients, tested for pesticide residues and heavy metals
You can check all of the above in person when you visit.
